Sigma Chi
VBR served as the general contractor for the renovation to the Sigma Chi Fraternity. The project included the complete demolition of the interior finishes and mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems. Interior partitions were constructed and new finishes installed throughout. Complete new mechanical and electrical systems were installed along with a commercial kitchen. Existing wood flooring surfaces were finished and new custom millwork constructed.
Exterior renovations included replacement of deteriorated materials, repainting and repointing and a new roofing surface.

Taco Bell
VBR was the general contractor for this project working closely with the architect and the franchise owner to achieve a state of the art new Taco Bell decor package.
The 3,744 s.f. interior of the store seats 95 people and the 782 s.f. outdoor patio seats 28.
All new storefront door, windows, Eifs, dry-laid stone and decorative railings were installed for a complete new look oustide.
New restrooms have tile flooring and walls with a black tegular tile ceiling. The new kitchen has all new equipment with a quarry tile floor, FRP walls and suspended vinyl rock ceilings. The new dining area has a ceramic tile floor and marmoleum wainscoating.

Maki Yaki
VBR served as the construction manager/general contractor for the fit-out of this 1,400 sf restaurant space. The project included the construction of a commercial kitchen, dining area and restroom facilities. Finishes include tile flooring, dramatic paint scheme, expanded metal ceiling and modern pendent lighting.
The project was completed in time to be open for the arrival of students for the fall 2008 semester.

Paris Companies - Health Care Facility
VBR served as the construction manager for the construction of this 50,000sf commercial laundry facility. The project included tilt up precast wall construction, structural steel roof support and an EPDM roofing system. The building was fit-out with a state of the art commercial laundry processing system with overhead conveyance system. Exterior loading docks and an interior (2) story office and business center were included.
Project was constructed on an extremely fast tracked schedule as the Owner was losing money for every day the facility was not processing laundry.

Breazeale Reactor Security Fence
VBR served as the general contractor for the construction of security upgrades to the Breazeale Nuclear Reactor. Work included new security guard booth, brick entry piers, a crash rated security fence and bollards.
VBR coordinated very closely with the reactor staff to install the new system and remove the existing system and feature maintaining complete security throughout the duration of the project.

OPP Central Distribution Loading Dock
VBR served as the general contractor for the demolition of existing and the construction of a new loading dock facility. Project included removing the existing dock surface and overhead structure. New loading bays with dock levelers were installed. New overhead structure, EPDM roofing system and metal panel soffit panels were installed. Lighting and safety rails completed the project scope.

Curtain Road Bus Shelters
Project included the construction of (2) free standing bus shelters. Shelter frame is structural steel with standing seam roofing and metal panel soffit material. Lower structural frame is clad in brick and lime. Windscreens include clear anodized aluminum glazed frames.
VBR/Buchart Horn Basco Associates redesigned the structural frame to allow the shelters to be constructed faster and meet the time frame.

Penn State Hotel & Conference Center
VBR served as the construction manager for the renovations to this 50,000sf hotel and conference center. The project included demolition of existing flooring, wall covering and millwork details. New carpet, wall coverings, and millwork were installed. Renovations included break areas including wood wall panels, stone masonry elevations, granite counter tops and custom millwork.
Project was closely coordinated with the conference center as the facility was open for business the entire time renovations were being completed.

RedLine Speedshine Carwash #2
Construction of a new 6,942 sf car wash with five self wash bays, two soft touch bays and one touchless bay. Three free-standing vacuum / shampoo islands with lighted canopies.
Contruction:
White splite face block with a red ceramic accent block. Eif’s was used to dress up the split face. Extrutech panels line all wash bays with a smooth reflective white surface that will not support mold or mildew.
Roofing consists of red metal standing seam roof with matching soffit, fascia, gutter and snow guards. The garage doors on front and back of each bay are made of red aluminum alloy frames with Tri-wall polycarbonate panels, stainless steel springs and automatic air openers.
Each bay has heated concrete floors for winter time use.
Equipment:
State of the art equipment was used in all aspects: The automatic bays are equipped with Auto Senrty Machines. You can pull up, pick your wash type, pay with cash or credit card and process through or if you are a car wash member the ICS system will read your sticker on the windshield and you can proceed through. In either case there is no need to get out of your car.
Going Green:
This car wash takes advantage of UAJA Benefical Re-use Water. The car wash is supplied with water that has been filtered at UAJA and sent back out for re-use within it’s prospective water shed. The water for washing cars is used and sent back to UAJA for re-use and the in slab heat water runs through the system and sent back to the Benefical Re-use lines for more re-use.

Park Forest Middle School Gym Renovation
VBR served as the construction manager for the renovations to this 6,000sf gymnasium. The project included removing the existing rubber flooring system and all ceiling and floor mounted athletic equipment. A new chair lift was installed to the upper stage level within the gym and masonry restoration completed. A new rubber floor surface was installed along with new basketball hoops, bleachers, and overhead dividing curtain.
Project was completed over summer break and was completed in time for the return of students for the fall start of school.

Bagshaw Addition
Scope of work: Construct a 525 square foot addition added to the back of the house. This wew space is to be used as the new family room. A new 15 seer forced air heat pump was installed to heat and cool the existing house and the new addition. New 30 year architectural shingles were used on the addition and existing house. Alcoa vinyl siding was installed on the addition and existing house and Dutch Quality stone was applied to the front of the existing house. A new ground-level pressure treated deck was built around the back and side of the addition. A new front entry was also added to the existing house.

During the design phase the customer wanted a large central space that tied into the kitchen and den area naturally, with the flow of the home. A fully open look was chosen to achieve this effect. The kitchen was upgraded with new counter tops and cabinet re-facing. The entrance to the basement was reconstructed to accept new counter top caps and a small bar area. The soffit area was rebuilt to house new spot can lights to accent the cooking area. The flooring in the kitchen area is a floating laminate that ties into the carpet in the family room. The owners also wanted a new look to the existing house. The installation of
matching siding, roofing and a new stone front made this house look new again. |
